In the state of Oregon, the following criteria are used to issue a W-2G Form:
- If Net Winnings are greater than $600, The Oregon Lottery provides a W-2G Form to a player for State Tax reporting purposes.
- If Net Winnings are greater than or equal to $600 and at least 300 times the amount of the bet, or if Net Winnings are greater than $5,000, The Oregon Lottery provides a W-2G Form to a player for Federal Tax reporting purposes.
Subsequently, taxes are withheld in the following circumstances:
- Any win amount over $1,500, 8% State Taxes are automatically withheld.
- Any win amount over $5,000, 8% State and 24% Federal Taxes are automatically withheld.
