What is State Debt Intercept?

If you are a tax payer in one of the following states, your taxable winnings may be subject to interception on your states behalf in accordance with your state’s Debt Set-Off Program. Please note this is a Government related process, for more information please select your state listed below:

  • Louisiana
  • Massachusetts
  • Ohio
  • Oregon

Why am I receiving this message?

Winnings that meet certain state or federal thresholds must be reported by DraftKings to the IRS for tax purposes. There may be tax withheld from your winnings, depending on how much you’ve won and what game you were playing. What information is needed from me?

If you receive a message regarding ‘State Debt Intercept’, there is no action needed on your end. An update on your funds will be provided as soon as we have verified your transaction with your applicable states set-off program. If you are subject to State Debt Intercept, in your transaction history the amount will be stated with the category being ‘Debt Intercept Withholding’. If you are deemed to not be subject to State Debt Intercept, the withheld fund will be returned to your account balance and the amount will be stated with the category being ‘Debt Intercept Withholding Refund’.
