Many factors can cause a deposit to be declined. Below are common reasons and tips for a successful deposit.
Types of Deposit Declines
Processing error
Reason: Our third-party processor reviews all transactions and may occasionally decline a deposit. The issue is related to the transfer process between DraftKings and your financial institution.
Resolution: Attempt another deposit using an alternative payment method.
Insufficient funds
Reason: Your transaction is being declined by the processor due to insufficient funds. This may happen if you have just enough to cover the deposit or if the transaction amount exceeds your available balance.
Resolution: Add more funds to your bank account, deposit a smaller amount, review pending charges, or contact your bank to resolve pending transactions.
If you contact your payment issuer and the decline persists, we recommend using an alternate payment method.

Declined by bank
Reason: Your deposit is being declined by your card issuing bank.
Resolution: Contact your card issuing bank to let them know your intention of depositing with DraftKings and see if they can help with a resolution. If you contact your payment issuer and the decline persists, we recommend using an alternate payment method.
Gift card declined
Reason: DraftKings gift cards are not accepted as a deposit method for Sportsbook in your state.
Resolution: You may be able to use gift cards on another DraftKings vertical.

Staged deposit
Reason: A communication error with your financial institution is causing a delay in processing your deposit. This issue is typically resolved within two to four hours, and your funds will be processed.
Resolution: If after four hours your deposit has not been posted to your DraftKings balance, we recommend using an alternate payment method. Recommendation: Wait 24-48 hours before attempting to use the same payment method for deposit again.
PayPal decline
Reason: The deposit pop-up window was abandoned. This can occur if you click the cancel button after the pop-up window is opened or if you have a pop-up blocker enabled.
Resolution: We recommend using Google Chrome and disabling any pop-up blockers. Once disabled, you can select PayPal as your deposit option and enter your deposit information. Alternatively, you can use a different deposit method.
Invalid user input
Reason: Your deposit didn't go through because the card, bank, or billing information was entered incorrectly (or your deposit amount was greater than your self imposed deposit limit allows).
Resolution: Re-enter your card, bank, or billing information, and double-check that you're entering the correct account number, routing number, and account type. Entering your information manually rather than letting your device auto-fill the information is recommended.
Invalid fingerprint
Resolution: Use an alternative deposit method
