Re-sizing Rules
If all available slots in your contest are not filled by the time the contest goes live, your contest may be resized. Resizing allows contests to run even though they don’t meet the number of entries for which the contest was initially designed. If a contest is resized, it will attempt to keep the same payout structure for which the contest was initially designed. If that prize structure is unavailable, the next closest prize structure will be chosen.
Important information
- Only private contests can be resized.
- The option for a contest to be auto-resized will be available in the Create a Contest area.
- Contests need a minimum of 2 entries to run even with resizing turned on.
- If a contest cannot be resized, it will be canceled and all entry fees will be refunded.
- As an example only: if you invite a total of 7 people, but only 6 of the 7 join the contest, and the contest is set as resizable, the contest will still lock and run.
- If in the above example, the contest was not set as resizable, the contest would not lock or run. The contest would be canceled and all entry fees refunded.
