How do I create a recurring contest? (US)

Recurring Contests

At DraftKings you can create your own private contests within a league, and then invite friends to join. If a contest is set to recurring, it is automatically created for next week and all league members receive notifications.

If the contest does not run two consecutive times, it is canceled. The commissioner can create a new contest within the league and resend invites for it.

Creating a recurring contest starts by following the same steps required for creating a regular contest:

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click on the Contests option from the menu at the top of the page.
  3. Go to the My Contests section.
  4. Click on the green Create a Contest button, which you will find on the right-hand side of the My Contests page.
  5. Customize your contest according to your preferences and the available contest rules.
  6. If the draft group you selected is eligible to be a recurring contest, you will see the option at the bottom of the page.
  7. Click on Start My League and create your lineup.
  8. Invite your friends to join your new contest by sending them a link to it.
Re-sizing Rules

If all available slots in your contest do not get filled up at the time a contest goes live, your contest may be resized. Resizing allows contests to run even though they do not meet the number of entries for which the contest was initially designed. If a contest is resized, it will attempt to keep the same payout structure as it was initially created to have. If that prize structure is unavailable, the next closest prize structure will be chosen.

Additional Notes:

  • Only private contests can be resized
  • The option for a contest to be auto-resized will be available in the Create a Contest flow
  • If a contest cannot be resized, it will be canceled.
  • Recurring contests’ settings will be based on the original contest’s settings.
  • DraftKings Customer Service Team can not delete contests
  • Not all contests can be set up as recurring contests
